I have had Windows 7 running only Toshiba NB 205 for over a month now and love it. The boot time is quicker than XP, the battery life suffers a little bit, but that might be in part because I love the look of the OS and haven't deactivated any of its toys. On another note, because I am a student, I paid only $30 (maybe $35 for unlimited downloads) for it. BIG fan.

I think if you have a USB CD drive, this should be simple as booting the disk from the BIOS and installing. I'm still gonna stick with XP though, because hardware support is a concern. I'd like to just get a Win7 netbook too and then benchmark stuff on it to compare.

The people that are being left out in the cold, so to speak, are those that buy a new netbook with the Windows 7 starter edition without knowing the limitations. The Windows 7 starter edition with the limitations of lack of DVD support(even with an external DVD), no desktop personalization, no multi- monitor support, no media center etc. are the ones who may have buyers remorse. All the disappointment can be offset by an $80 upgrade.
