Well, I tried to contact broadcom and left a message for a regional sales rep, my only option, and I still have not heard anything from them. However, I did find several on EBAY, go figure. So I'll be purchasing it from them. I would prefer to purchase from a store, but I don't think I have that option.

Hi James, I don't even know where to begin helping you :( Maybe contact Broadcom and ask them for help? After all, it's their product that you're trying to use and they may be of better help? Good luck and please let us know how your story ends (happily hopefully)

I have a Question. I just purchased an HP mini at my PX. I absolutely love it. I have also become aware of a video accelerator made by broadcom. My mini has a slot for it but I can't find a store that sells it. It is available if you order your mini from HP's website, but I spent an hour on the phone with them and could not get anyone who knew what I was talking about. Any help would be welcomed. Thank you.

1) The more they sell, the less the cost of making them becomes and hence the more revenue they generate no matter how small

2) Netbook is a category that's becoming more widespread. Computer makers know that if people are buying netbooks, it would be great if they purchased their brands and hopefully in the future upgrade to a more expensive product from in the brand family

3) Personally, I really think that making netbooks is not that expensive and so they still make their money. It's little money compared to the average laptop but money nevertheless. Acer is a hot company now partially thanks to the Aspire One sales as a quick example.

Hi, I have a sort of obvious question but don't know the obvious answer. With 10" netbooks selling for $299 and Win7 Home Premium OEM selling for $100, how can any company make money on a netbook?
